The short version
SocialsCap does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything
the app tracks — app usage times, daily limits, bedtime schedules, and your
PIN — stays on your device. There are no servers, no analytics, no advertising,
and no accounts.
Who we are
SocialsCap is an Android parental-control application developed and maintained
by an independent developer based in the Netherlands. This policy applies to the
SocialsCap app distributed via the Google Play Store
(package com.socialscap.app).
What data SocialsCap reads
SocialsCap reads the following information from your device in order to do its
job. None of it is ever transmitted anywhere.
- App usage times. How long each monitored app has been in the
foreground today, read from Android's own usage statistics via the Usage Access
permission. Processed locally and never stored beyond the current day.
- List of installed apps. Which social apps from SocialsCap's
supported list are installed on the device, and any additional apps you add
manually. Used only to populate the monitoring list.
- Your settings. Your parental PIN (stored as a hash, never in
plain text), daily time limits, bedtime schedule, and active-days selection.
Stored in Android's private app storage, readable only by SocialsCap, and
never leaves the device.

Permissions requested and why
-
📊
Usage Access
Measures how long each monitored app has been used today so
limits can be enforced. Reads Android's own usage statistics — no app content is accessed.
-
🪟
Display over other apps
Shows the block screen and 3-minute warning on top of the app
being limited when its daily limit is reached.
-
♿
Accessibility Service
Detects which app is currently in the foreground so blocking
is instant. SocialsCap only reads the foreground app name — it never reads app content,
keystrokes, form inputs, or any other data.
-
🛡️
Device Administrator
Prevents the app from being uninstalled without entering the
parental PIN, so children cannot bypass limits by removing the app.
-
🔋
Ignore Battery Optimisations
Ensures time limits and bedtime blocking continue to be enforced
even when the screen is off or the device is in Doze mode.
-
📱
Query all packages
Allows the "Add App" picker to list all apps installed on the
device so the parent can choose additional apps to monitor beyond the presets.
Children's privacy
SocialsCap is designed to be installed and configured by a parent or guardian on a child's
device. The app is targeted at adults (parents) and is not directed at children. SocialsCap
does not knowingly collect any data from anyone — child or adult — because it collects no
data at all.
No information about the child's device usage, identity, or behaviour is processed by the
developer or any third party. Everything stays on the device.
Data retention and deletion
All SocialsCap data is stored in Android's private app storage on the device itself.
Uninstalling SocialsCap removes all stored data permanently. There is no server-side data
to request deletion of, because no data ever leaves the device.
Daily usage counters reset automatically at the time configured by the parent (default:
midnight). No historical usage data is retained beyond the current day.
Third parties
SocialsCap does not share any data with third parties. The app contains no third-party
SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising frameworks, or crash reporters.
The Google Play Store may collect standard installation and crash data as described in
Google's own privacy policy. This is handled entirely by Google and is outside the
developer's control.
Changes to this policy
If SocialsCap's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the
"Last updated" date at the top revised. Because the app operates entirely on-device
with no data collection, material changes are not anticipated.
